JOB DETAILS:About The Role
Key responsibilities for the role include:
• Managing our students’ wellness and offering health-related support as needed.
• First-aid and care to students with acute and/or chronic health problems
• Coordinate referrals to the nearest/preferred health facilities.
• Perform health screenings to detect health issues.
• Lead wellness/health-related initiatives to provide health education to students, staff and parents.
• Oversee infection control measures within the school.
• Supervise and/or administer medications brought to school by students.
• Make courtesy follow-up calls to parents of children absent from school due to illness.
• Liaise with the medical staff at the nearest private hospital and update school’s hospital referral list
• Create and manage incident documents on all students confidentially.
• Collect and record data daily on illnesses and injuries, flag multiple occurrences and escalate to School Leadership with a proposal on how to address the cases and prevent future cases.
• Collect student allergy information and make follow-up on the same.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and other stakeholders (e.g. clinicians and paramedics) in matters related to health and wellness.
• Escalate any medical issues and injuries with the School Leadership
• Responsibly keep and manage inventory of medical equipment and supplies
About You
Skills and Qualifications required:
• You have a Diploma or Degree in Nursing with great people skills.
• You have at least 3 years experience working as a pediatric nurse.
• A professional, flexible and conscientious registered nurse with the ability to build a harmonious, energetic and cohesive relationship with students and co-workers.
• Professional counseling skills with a proven track record will be an advantage.
• You are comfortable with children and their health and safety
• You thrive in a busy and entrepreneurial environment.

JOB DETAILS:Duties and Responsibilities
• Class teaching
• Role modelling, guidance and counselling, mentoring and motivation of the learners
• Preparing reports for individual children in their class
• Ensuring safety and security of the learners
• Assist in organizing, facilitating play/learning activities for the learners
• Carrying and nurturing spiritual, moral, social, mental, physical , aesthetic and emotional growth of the learners (holistic development)
• Managing ECDE classes and keeping professional and administrative records (Schemes of work, lesson plans, daily programs of activities, attendance registers etc) and ensuring learners safety and security.
• Preparing and developing play/learning materials for co-curriculum activities for ECDE Children
• Participate in field visits for ECDE Children
• Implement ECDE policies and procedures at the ECDE Centres
• Identify children with special needs in learning
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this post, a candidate must have: -
• Be a Kenyan Citizen
• Have a minimum Grade D (plain) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or KCE Division IV at ‘O’ Level
• Have Certificate in Early Childhood Development and Education from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) or other examination body approved by the Ministry of Education
• Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education Examined by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) will be an added advantage
• Be conversant with the ECDE syllabus and competency-based curriculum CBC
• Have knowledge about the functions of the County of Government of Siaya with focus on ECDE’s
• Knowledge of ICT will be an added advantage
• Meet the requirement of the Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
• Be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and provide the Registration Number

JOB DETAILS:Job Objective
• To coordinate all activities of students with disability and safeguard their interests
Duties And Responsibilities:
• Assist the students with a disabilities on the registration process during academic intake;
• Attend to the students with disability concerns;
• Assist in supporting the mental wellbeing of the students.
• Provide appropriate support for students with disabilities during examination period.
• Identify, develop, and coordinate the implementation of appropriate individual education plans for students with disabilities.
• Ensure accommodation facilities for students with disability are arranged for designated students.
• Analyze medical reports from external agencies and determine if they meet disability criteria.
• Provide continuous counselling, support, and advocacy for students with disabilities.
• Assess academic, education, and other disability related needs of students.
• Ensure equitable access for students with disabilities to classroom activities, course requirements, programs, services and facilities.
• Sensitize the University community through seminars and workshops to enhance awareness of disability issues on campus.
• Recommend the allocation of support and resources in the provision of accommodations.
• Make recommendations for scholarship awards, internal and external bursaries, and other funding supports.
• Make appropriate referrals to internal and external agencies.
• Provide general support to the department to ensure the disability services and programs within the University runs smoothly.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by your Supervisor or Management.
Qualifications And Experience
• Diploma in Special Needs Education from an accredited Institution.
• At least 2 years of work experience in the area of disability inclusion or its equivalent preferably in an Institution of Higher learning.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies

• Ability to interpret prescriptions accurately.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
