The main duties will include but are not limited to:
• Carrying outtroubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance of plant equipment
• Disassembling, reassembling and reinstalling equipmentin the plant using OEM manuals
• Carrying out condition monitoring as required
• Recording all completed work and parts used in the work order system
• Setting up fitting tools on the job at hand and instructing fitter assistants on fitting tools as required
• Accurately reading, interpreting and planning work according to drawings
• Setting up and operating workshop machines including but not limited to conveyors, elevators and pumpsas instructed and as per standard operating procedures
• Ensuring good housekeeping of workshop and work areas
• Ensuring accurate records of maintenance activities are kept
To succeed you will be required to have:
• A minimum of a Government Trade Certificate 1 in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a similar industry
• Maintenance and diagnostic skills on relevant equipment
• Experience in the use of electrical and manual tools including and not limited to grinders & drilling machines
• Accuracy in record keeping and timekeeping
• Ability to read and interprettechnical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of safety standards
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Instrument Technician job at Base Titanium L

• Ensuring proper maintenance of instruments, compliance with relevant codes, and adherence to safety regulations
• Updating schematic drawings on any repairs or alterations made in the control panels or recording instruments
• Ensuring accurate records of instrumentation and control data are maintained and updated regularly
• Maintaining metering instruments, recording instruments and process control systems
• Maintaining accurate statutory Instrumentation & Control information including but not limited to calibration & functional test records
• Testing, calibrating, installing and inspecting measuring and control instruments
• Promoting a safe working environment by ensuring good housekeeping of the workshop and working area
