About The Role
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of a HR Specialist. Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Specialist will coordinate the HR functions in Africa Area office and support National Offices (NOs) in ensuring efficient and effective HR policies and procedures that fits and is aligned with the organization’s principles, strategy, and goals. They will be part of a team to support deployment, maintenance, and adaptation of HR-related systems and guidelines in line with the on- going organizational changes and initiatives. The incumbent will be the focal point for Africa Area office to deploy, train and build NO’s capacities on the same.

This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and provide advice and active support to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, such as: identify resourcing options and strategies, adherence to policy, develop assessment materials, coordinate interviews etc.
• Coordinate and organize HR systems to ensure smooth due processes in the selection and onboarding phase; background checks, offer & contracts, system set-up, induction, and orientations etc.
• Monitor HR best practices for efficiencies or other innovation in Africa Office and recruitments.

The ideal candidate will have experience in tracking CPDs, designing training modules, and coordinating and conducting creative training and educational programs using various training methods. Duties And Responsibilities
• Liaise with the Chief Talent & Happiness Officer together with department heads to conduct organization-wide training needs assessment to identify gaps that need to be addressed.
• Deliver training on SOPs to ensure best practices and standardize task performance across BURN’s entities across Africa for consistency and efficiency of all business operations.
• Map out training plans and schedules for the various departments across BURN’s entities.

Key responsibilities
• Maintain employee’s information on Kerry’s HR system (mySuccess) ensuring all data is up to date and accurate
• Close collaboration with HR Shared Service, Global Mobility, Recruitment, IT & Facilities team to support end-to-end HR processes for employees, including but not limited to:
• Answering employee queries
• Supporting the Pre-boarding, On-boarding, Transfer and Leaver process
• Being the main HR point of contact for employees who are moving in/out of the site (Permanent relocation/Assignment); working closely to ensure smooth transition of employees
• Administering financial elements such as payroll, compensation and benefits and pension schemes for employees
• Support HR driven projects on activities relating to:
• Reporting and Data Management
• On-site Training/Talks coordination
• Employee forums and events
• Process improvement
• Develop effective communication to raise staff understanding in the purpose and impacts of various HR initiatives on them
• Challenge administrative processes (where appropriate) in order to implement more effective and innovative solutions
• Maintaining and revising the company’s employee handbook on policies and procedures
• Undertake ad-hoc duties and HR related projects as and when required

Job Role Description
• The role is responsible for contributing to the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives by aligning HR strategy and individual goals with those of the company through, sourcing, training, performance management, Health &Safety, retention, and implementation of HR best practice initiatives across the organization.

Functions/Key Expected Results
• Guide/provide technical input into the development and implementation of the HR Strategy, giving careful consideration to the overall business plan, best practices, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop HR policies and procedures with stakeholder input, secure HOB/Board approval, and ensure effective implementation and compliance across the company
• Develop recommendations on reward, retention, talent management, and succession planning strategies, recommend to the Head of Business and Board, secure approval, and ensure their effective roll-out.
• Promote a performance culture within the company by implementing a business results-focused performance management system and ensure uniformity in implementation across the company
