Full Stack Solutions Engineer - Technology & Innovation

As the Solutions Engineer- Technology and Innovation, you will perform the following and/or similar activities: 

Strategy Development 

  • Working across network partners and internal stakeholders to build context and identify key potential technology solutions to accelerate impact
  • Developing a responsive and evolving strategy to prioritize and develop these key technologies, working closely with the Technology & Innovation team and key senior stakeholders to invest them in the strategy
  • Providing regular updates internally and externally regarding progress, and regularly revisiting the modifying the solutions strategy as needs change

Requirements Gathering, Analysis and Execution

  • Gathering requirements for prioritized projects through stakeholder interviews and discussion, ensuring that all projects are accessible, inclusive of the various needs of the network and sustainable beyond the 3-year length of this role
  • Synthesizing requirements and developing holistic solutions to meet the needs of your stakeholders, ensuring that key needs and requirements are met within project and budgetary constraints
  • Working both individually and collaboratively across the Technology & Innovation team and any external vendors or collaborators needed to develop and deliver prioritized solutions
  • Ensuring that end users are trained and supported along with the Technology & Innovation Operations team
  • Identifying key metrics and measures of success, and reporting on those throughout the phases of each project
  • Identifying and managing key improvements through user and stakeholder interviews

Community Building and Management

  • Developing a community of technology enthusiasts across the network, and working across key stakeholders internally and throughout the network to share best practice and amplify the impact of community members
  • Where possible, involving the community members in the development of the technology solutions identified as part of the three year strategy
  • Encouraging and supporting community-developed solutions

As the ideal candidate, you will bring: 

  • Computer Science or related degree and/or equivalent years of formal training and experience 
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience and a portfolio of work
  • Web development experience, preferably including familiarity with Drupal or other PHP-based site development
  • REST-based API development experience
  • Data manipulation/wrangling, including Python and Google Cloud
  • Comfort and experience in engaging with new technologies
  • Participation in open-source development projects and communities
  • An understanding of working with technology in bandwidth-constrained environments
  • Passion about Education and Ed Tech
  • History of driving technology projects from inception to delivery
  • Strong business analyst skills, communications skills and ability to manage multiple diverse stakeholders

Short-Form Video Producer/Editor, Public Affairs

About the Team 

The Public Affairs team works to influence the global discussion in order to create an external environment conducive to the achievement of Teach For All’s vision. We are a fast-paced team that works to build a proactive narrative and brand that highlights our core purpose and the impact of our global network, creates a clear understanding of how our network is structured, and raises the profile of our network partners.

As the Short-form Video Producer/Editor at Teach For All, you will engage in the following and/or similar activities: 

  • Developing and creating short-form video content to be shared across Teach For All’s social media platforms (including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn), website, and other communication channels
  • Managing the  production & post-production of short-form video projects for social media and other communications:
    • Collaborating  with the Social Media & Communications Specialist and other Public Affairs colleagues to craft compelling narratives using footage from interviews, b-roll, still images, animation, etc.
    • Create production budgets based on resource availability and project specifications
    • Manage production workflows from initiation of project to final delivery
    • On occasion, produce live video shoots
    • As-needed, contract & manage external contractors (videographers, photographers, animators, motion designers, etc.)
  • Developing  a visual style of Teach For All’s social media video content that is aligned to our overall branding and design guidelines and reflects the needs of our audiences and the medium
  • Managing Teach For All’s video, photo, and audio platforms & archives. This includes existing and growing archive of video footage, Vimeo & YouTube channels and  audio platforms (currently Apple Podcasts & Spotify)
  • Provide other video editing support as needed
    • Cutting down long-form videos, Zoom presentations, recorded panels, interviews, etc.
    • “Polishing” footage for external viewing (adding starts/stops, intros, titles, lower-thirds, etc.)
    • Supporting Public Affairs and other teams with subtitling and captioning requests (using third party vendors)

As the ideal candidate, you will bring:

  • A portfolio of high-quality, engaging video work with 3 to 5 years of working experience as a video editor, including at least 1 to 2 years of experience creating engaging content for social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
  • Expertise in creating social media animations and motion graphics for non-profits or other purpose-driven organization
  • Technical understanding of pre-production, production, post-production process and workflows.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to be kind, flexible, and adaptive in a dynamic work environment, while maintaining a very high bar for quality
  • Proficient in media production software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience with color correction, audio mixing, and motion graphics
  • Ability to set-up, film, and direct simple video shoots
  • Experience managing freelancers and vendors
  • Outstanding judgment around communicating with external audiences on social media and in other Public Affairs initiatives
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate in a way that is sensitive to diversity in backgrounds and beliefs (e.g., geographical, racial, cultural, socioeconomic, political, etc.)
  • Fluency in the ways brands, particularly non-profits, are using video on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.) to connect to multiple audiences and amplify their messages
  • Creative thinking skills and knowledge of current trends in social media and short-form video production & dissemination
  • Strong judgment and ability to build context quickly in nuanced and complex situations
  • Professional fluency in English is required (written, spoken, reading)

 Additional desirable skills/experiences (not required):

  • Previous non-profit or education sector experience
  • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with Teach For All’s network   

Research Manager - Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL)

About the Team 

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) team supports Teach For All and its network partners to generate evidence of our network’s total impact – on student learning and leadership, participant and alumni leadership, and communities and systems impact. The MERL team engages in evidence generation through large-scale independent evaluations working in partnership with external researchers, donors, and network partners to study our network partners’ impact across the theory of change. In addition, the MERL team conducts internal, programmatic research on strategic initiatives in teacher and local leadership development to support systemic change in education. 

As a Research Manager at Teach For All, you will engage in the following and/or similar activities: 

MERL Projects, Grants, and Research Management (70%) 

  • Develop new project management systems to monitor multiple research projects and grants simultaneously.
  • Create new systems for communication and coordination between Teach For All teams, donors, network partners, researcher partners, and other vendors.
  • Support resource management and budgeting for Teach For All research initiatives.
  • Assist with research project proposal development, kickoff, instrument and protocol design, data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate grant reporting activities, compiling evidence and data from multiple parties.

Research & Evidence Communications, Monitoring, and Dissemination (30%)

  • Lead the development of new research evidence communications products like research briefs, infographics, and other communications resources in collaboration with Public Affairs
  • Support publishing, presentations, and other communications and learning activities from grant-funded research. 
  • Support research dissemination efforts like developing proposals for conferences and publications, coordinate in-person research events with network partners, and provide project management support for research conferences and events.
  • Developing and maintain systems for monitoring new research and evidence on the Teach For All network.

The Research Manager will focus on projects from across the global Teach For All network, and more specifically will begin working on existing and new research like:

  • A quasi-experimental evaluation of whole child development effects and school level effects in Nigeria
  • Internal research on social and emotional development and well-being in Colombia
  • Supporting future research by coordinating with network partners to develop research concept notes

As the ideal candidate, you will bring: 

  • 4+ years related work or training experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing research projects, including proposal development, budget development, and data collection coordination
  • Familiarity with research and evaluation methods for educational research settings (RCTs, quasi-experimental impact evaluations, qualitative methods) 
  • Experience with data analysis and cleaning
  • Experience successfully solving complex and dynamic problems 
  • Experience managing complex relationships and multi-stakeholder projects
  • A strong orientation toward diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in how to approach research and team building
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Additional desirable skills/experiences (not required):

  • Experience in fundraising 
  • Proficiency in Stata or R
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish, French, Arabic, or Chinese (Mandarin)
