About the Role
This position is a key member of the Logistics leadership team responsible for overseeing logistics operations across the region. The role will be the custodian of Health & Safety and accountable for inventory integrity, order fulfilment and the movement of goods in and out of the Fulfilment centres with the objective to develop a customer-centric culture in all that we do within our facilities.

Reporting to: Business Unit Head, Global Logistics Operations

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure superior customer experience for our internal and external customers
• Identify areas for improvement, whether technical, geographic, financial, etc.
• Oversee country operations across the Africa portfolio to ensure that a coherent regional strategy is adopted and implemented, that operations and projects/initiatives comply with country standard operating procedures, work instructions and jurisdiction, and that all staff are supported, satisfied and performing
• Resolve constraints on high priority projects/initiatives, friction between functions, issues, and risks - Provide advice and strategic guidance to the country team and work closely with the Global Leadership Team to develop appropriate continuous improvement or risk mitigation strategies
• Support Country Logistics leaders overseeing a network of +20 FCs with +200 3P delivery capacity across 7 Countries with 15% - 20% Growth MOM
• Build a culture of excellent financial management and compliance in all countries in Africa. Actively participate in Finance Committee meetings and work with Global Logistics Team to develop a culture of operational and cost efficiency
• In collaboration with the Global Leadership Team, you will help determine the right staffing levels for the various functions in each country and adjust accordingly as the scale of our operations in the various locations increases or decreases
• Actively participate in the recruitment and hiring process, ensuring we always attract and retain the best talent
• Ensure that established performance targets are met for all countries and our people through proper implementation of strategy and standardization of processes to ensure repeated success
• Ensure the company’s physical assets (building, equipment, inventory, etc.) are properly controlled, maintained, protected and utilised. Drive process improvements to continually improve operational efficiencies

Requirements
• Degree (Bachelor/Masters) in Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Business, Logistics Operations, Engineering or related field
• 8-10+ years of experience in Operations Management, Logistics, and General Management with a data-driven and analytical focus
• A good understanding of fulfilment centre and transport operations with a regional / global span of control
• Track record of leading and inspiring a team of individuals to work collaboratively and continuously improve results
• Solid team player with a Customer First mindset
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and systematic problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and desire to learn and seek new challenges
• Ability to influence others, including key stakeholders in the wider business
• Power BI/Tableau proficiency advantageous
• WMS - Manhattan Scale or similar proficiency advantageous
• LMS - Loginext or similar proficiency advantageous
