The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) is a State Corporation established under the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Act, No. 28 of 2013 under the Ministry of Education.

Records Management Assistant

Recognized qualifications: -

  1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- from Kenya National Examination Council( KNEC) or its equivalent from a recognized institution; and
  2. A Diploma in Records/ Information Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Duties and responsibilities: -

  1. Assist in ensuring that letters are filed and marked for action;
  2. Assist in updating and maintaining up to date file movement records;
  3. Assist in the security of files and documents;
  4. Assist in receipt and proper dispatch of mails and maintaining related registers;
  5. Assist in initiating appraisal;
  6. Assist in renewing file covers;
  7. Assist in ensuring proper handling of documents.

3 Planning Assistant

Recognized qualifications:-

  1. Have Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: - Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Governance, Public Administration, Sociology, Demography or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  2. Be proficient in computer applications

Duties and responsibilities:-

  1. Assist in preparing budgets for the recurrent, development votes and quarterly expenditure forecasts;
  2. Assist in preparing annual plans for the Agency;
  3. Assist in collecting, collating and analyzing statistical data on the planned programmes;
  4. Assist in implementing the Agency’s plans and programmes;
  5. Assist in preparing and tracking the implementation of Strategic Plan;
  6. Assist in preparing and tracking the performance contract;
  7. Assist in monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the Agency’s plans and projects; and
  8. Assist in preparing quarterly and annual

3 Corporate Communications Assistant

Recognized qualifications: -

  1. Have Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Public Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Marketing or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  2. Be proficient in computer applications;
  3. Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

Duties and responsibilities:-

  1. Assist in organizing events;
  2. Assist in implementing communication strategies for the Agency;
  3. Assist in preparing speeches, media briefs and Agency’s newsletters;
  4. Assist in research on content to be placed in media for publicity;
  5. Assist in ensuring print publication are well stored for future use; and
  6. Assist in collecting information for the preparation of the Agency’s newsletter and supplements.

2 Innovation Assistant

Recognized qualifications: -

  • Have Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area from a recognized institution;
  • Be proficient in computer applications.

Duties and responsibilities: -

  • An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and Responsibilities will entail:-
  • Assist in creating and continuously updating a national database to support effective development and management of the national innovation system;
  • Assist in profiling 14 potential partners for resource mobilization for the development of technological innovations; identifying initiatives for commercialization of innovations;
  • Assist in creating awareness on IP rights;
  • training innovators on exploitation of IPR’s and on commercialization processes;
  • Assist in engaging in initiation and negotiation for linkages and partnerships among stakeholders in the national innovation systems;
  • Assist in conducting stakeholder assessment and validating opportunities and potential for development of the national innovation system; and
  • Assist in implementing the Agency’s strategic objectives, projects and programmes.
